Taylor auxiliary Police dies, victim of hit-and-run
Taylor, MI-The Taylor officer died from injuries sustained after being hit by a car on I-94. The officer was aiding a stranded motorist when he was struck by a car around 9:00 p.m.
Police are looking for a late 1990's model Ford Crown Victoria white in color with front end damage and the driver's side door window broken. Its unknown whether the driver was aware that they stuck the officer.
This marks the second Taylor officer fatality within this year. Earlier this year the department loss, Officer Mathew Edwards to the callousness of a gunman. No other information is being released about the officer pending notification of his family members. The chief tells us he was in his 50's.

Dateline’s view of Detroit, Truth or Ratings?
Dateline’s view of Detroit, Truth or Ratings?The cameras came and the action begun. When native Metro Detroiter, Chris Hansen of NBC's "Dateline,” came home he brought cameras and a crew to tell a story about what Detroit look like, or did he? The show has some Detroiters fuming, while others stand behind the story stating this is truth.
The question is why wasn’t any of the positive aspects of Detroit shown?
Across the nation people tend to belief Detroit is much worst off then what it is, why? Because this is what they see. They don’t live here, so they don’t know. And when you have television crews coming into the city filming just the blight what are they to expect?
Detroit, like any other major city has it’s troubles yes. But with today’s economy Detroit is no different than any other major city in many ways.
I have to agree when the big three closed down majority of it’s dealerships it had a big impact on Detroit, but ask yourself…how may of those dealerships were inside of Detroit, or were they on the outskirts, “Metro Detroit.”
Let’s get an understanding here people, 9 time out of 10 when you hear “Metro Detroit” it happened in a suburb that surround Detroit. I have to agree with one columnist I found recently on the web, telling the story about how these camera crews come and tell half the story. Take a look at this site for yourself and you be the judge. If these camera crews want to come to tell the story…. Tell not just your story, but the whole story.
This is no different from asking is the glass half empty or half full, but I guess the answer would depend on who is being asked.
